First concert in the series Tumult! on September 9th

In the coming months Willem Twee Studio's and Jazz en Geïmproviseerde muziek are organizing a new concert series: Tumult!
Inspiring concert evenings are promised where electro-acoustic music will embrace improvisation. Musicians from different (inter)national scenes will meet each other.

September 9th the first concert evening will take place with Jessica Ekomane, Hainbach and Genevieve Murphy & Andy Moore.

Genevieve Murphy & Andy Moore

The Scottish Genevieve Murphy is an all-round artist with a background in modern classical music and composition. In the past few years she did performances, made visual art and has been working with visual artists, improvisation musicians, choreographers and producers all over the world. She plays a range of instruments, including bagpipe.
Since a few years she has been playing with Andy Moor, who is known as guitar player of the famous punk band The Ex. Andy is a versatile musician, producer and label owner. His way of playing is dark, hypnotic, often repetitive and raw.

Hainbach

Hainbach, an electro-acoustic composer from Berlin, creates music by examining and experimenting. His music is deep, meditative, erratic and challenging. With a range of synthesizers, test equipment from the fifties and tape recorders his improvised live sets become an amazing trip.
He owns a YouTube channel with more than 150.000 subscribers, on which he shares his findings and techniques. His music has been released on labels such as Seil Records, Opal Tapes, SA Recordings and misc.works.
In 2020 Hainbach already visited the Willem Twee Studios (and made some Youtube video's!) and we stayed in contact because of our shared fascination of old synthesizers as well as test and measurement equipment from the fifties. We are happy he will be back in Den Bosch on September 9. This time live on stage at Willem Twee Toonzaal!

Jessica Ekomane

The French sound artist Jessica Ekomane, based in Berlin, makes purging, intense performances, with treacherous rhythms, psycho-acoustics and a dynamic interplay of noise and melody. This evening she will present the results of her residency in June, when she researched analogue computing in the Willem Twee Studios. This residency was kindly made possible through a cooperation with the Gaudeamus Festival.
