Simeon ten Holt – Canto Ostinato
The Saxophone, Voice of Sax, has a rather extensive family of instruments with an inexhaustible color spectrum. From the sparklingly high sopranino, via the well-known soprano, alto, tenor and baritone, to the roaring, fat sound of the bass saxophone. The Dutch Saxophone Octet, founded at the beginning of 2014 by a number of freshly graduated saxophonists, plays the invention of Adolphe Sax like an orchestra and ventures into arrangements of all kinds of instrumentations. Among other things, they received the right from the Schönberg Foundation to edit and implement the fantastic ‘Verklärte Nacht’. The same applies to the ‘Canto Ostinato’ by Simeon ten Holt.
